Sketching/writing ideas for "Jungleland"
"I've stayed above the ground, where life had was so ordinary and routine. Up here, I've swung upon every vine, and I have kissed the sky. I thought I was to be ever happy here, but there is naught else for me to do, and I am not satisfied. You, stay clear and tempt me no further, it will not work. What? That we should only ever look up at those distant twinkling lights and never reach them? That will not do for me!
"Below I have seen a strange steam rising and I have followed it to a vast and terrifying crevasse into which many rivers flow. This yawning gape in the jungle is deep and there is only blackness I can see therein. To this pit I now go, for I tire of the limitations I have reached in the sky. Perhaps below there are fewer limits, and I will be able to ever carry-on and explore, to descend deeper, never stopping, following the void and the call of the unknown. And should this be folly to which my restless ambition carries me, and by some accident or disaster I cross the final barrier, then blame the stars to which I could not climb!"

Carnival
She wanted to be a star,
But those times was old and creaky.
Everything is made of wood,
But, why would you believe me.
She was the one full of promise.
Hell, it was quite a show some nights,
That's all it had to be,
The earth was welcoming.
We were her greatest achievement,
And the grass was warm and we'd dance and sing,
And soft when I laid down to gaze at the sky,
nothing was frightening.
And Youth is a gift!
and I would have stayed there forever, that's my heart.
But, for her, she saw a different twinkle...
And she left me with my ground, So,
I have need to take to the cities, to see...
where she's to be found.
